Ryan Colditz is a 3D artist and freelance graphic designer who creates cutting edge works inspired by rock concerts, turn of the century stereoscopic photographs and the raw emotional feelings associated with the creative process.
Colditz’s deeply personal works focus on the perceived connections between the viewer and the observed work. Using these connections as the driving force behind his art, he began experimenting with 3D–a medium that immerses the viewer within a scene. Capitalizing on the sensations he experienced as a child while viewing antique stereoscopic pictures of exotic locales, Colditz invites the viewer to step into another realm. This basic idea is evident in his most recent body of work, Coachella Music Festival 2009, where Colditz captures the raw emotion associated with a live music event, be it on stage or in a crowd. Through incorporating 3D, Colditz pushes photography to the next level of realism.
Colditz was the recipient of the LA Press Club Honorable Mention award for layout and design for LA Weekly in 2007. In 2008 he was the first to create a full 3D anaglyph branding campaign for LA Weekly’s Annual Detour Music Festival. Currently he works as a creative consultant in the Los Angeles area, working with music, publishing and entertainment clients. |
